The automotive industry is undergoing a shift towards sustainability, with electric cars, EVs, at the forefront. This transition is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. However, many car enthusiasts, often referred to as petrolheads, continue to be skeptical or resistant to embracing electric cars.
This project aims to explore strategies to make the transition to electric cars more palatable for petrolheads, in order to bridge the gap between their passion for traditional combustion engines and the high—tech benefits of electric mobility.

I’ve always thought cars and the engineering behind them were extremely interesting, and found the culture around modifying and celebrating them just so passionate. For that reason, I thought it would be quite worthwhile to leverage graphic design to make the idea of a healthy transition to electric vehicles more palatable for that audience, despite their understandable reluctance.

Merchandise is sold at these events, as well as on the website. “Power the Momentum” is the tagline for the project and the Motorheads Workshop. This language references horsepower as the force behind the movement of cars    as well as the momentum of an object moving forward  and the concept of the transition to EVs gaining momentum, or traction.
